How I made 10K Fast Creating Online Courses

Introduction

I've always known that I wanted to help people. It's just one of those things that comes naturally to me. But I had no idea how to make money doing it. Then, one day, a friend of mine told me about this exciting new thing called "online courses." It was exactly what I'd been looking for! So, I started creating my first course...and then another...and then another (you get where this is going).

This is how I made 10K fast creating online courses and helping others achieve their online course-creating goals.

Start with the "Why"

Start with the "Why"

First, you need to know why. Your why is what will drive you to complete your online course, especially when when it gets tough.

Before we dive into the details of creating your course and making money with it, I want to be sure that you have a solid understanding of where all of this is headed.

In order for me not just create courses but to help others create their own online courses, I needed to understand my why.

Why did I want an online course?

What was my goal in creating one? What did I hope it would do for me (and others)?

Create a Target Persona

Create a Target Persona

Now that you understand your why, it’s time to create your buyer persona.

A persona is a fictitious representation of one type of person who might be interested in your online course. It helps you get clear with your message and stay focused on your target audience. Its keeps your course content relevant.

Personas should:

  • Be based on real data, not just guesses or assumptions (this will help make sure the persona is accurate)

  • Understand your customers journey. Know why they need your product/service/information (this will help keep them engaged throughout their experience with you)

  • Have specific goals and needs that are addressed by using your product/service/information (this will help ensure that they see value from what you have to offer)

Tell Your Story

Tell Your Story

Your story is what will motivate people to take action. Tell your story in a way that makes you relatable to your audience. If you're good at telling stories, this won't be difficult for you; however, if you don't feel comfortable or have never done it before, try practicing by telling stories of other people's experiences.

For example: "I was once unemployed for 6 months before I found my current job." And these were the exact steps I took to create success in my workplace…

Use your unique experience to demonstrate why this topic is important to them. Make sure that whatever situation(s) led up to their current situation is clearly articulated. They should understand exactly what obstacles taking your course will enable them to overcome. Make sure you tell a story of triumph. How you were able to achieve your success goals and now you want to help them achieve theirs as well. Use real life scenarios as much as possible.

Showcase your Expertise

Showcase your Expertise

The best way to showcase your expertise, knowledge and skills is to write a Book. When it comes to Books, there are three main types:,

  • How-to (examples: “How To Increase Your Website Traffic” and “How To Get A Job As A Freelance Writer”)

  • Tips & Tricks (examples: “10 Ways To Make Your Facebook Page More Engaging” and “5 Amazingly Simple Ways That Will Improve Your Writing Instantly!”)

  • Fun With Facts (examples: “The World's 10 Weirdest Foods” and “The 12 Most Bizarre Factories in the World")

Use Things to Motivate You

Use Things to Motivate You

To keep yourself motivated, try using a social media platform to share your progress. Sharing your goals with others will help you stay accountable. You can also use tools like Google calendar or Todoist to keep track of your progress and stay on task. If you're feeling stuck, join a group online that is working towards similar goals as yours. It's easier to hold yourself accountable when there are other people who will also be affected by not achieving success, like this one https://www.facebook.com/groups/sellyourcourse

Launch Your Course for Free

Launch Your Course for Free

Once you have a solid course syllabus , it's time to Test your theory. The goal here is to get feedback from people who are interested in your topic, as well as people who don't know much about it. You want to get serious responses from both groups because they will help you improve your course by telling you what they like and don't like about it. For example whether or not the course helps the learner achieve the goals it has promised.

You can do this A few different ways.

  1. You can hold a beta group and teach your entire syllabus to them for a reduced rate.

  2. you can hold workshops with your ideal audience present and get there feedback from your course.

  3. You can provide several lead generating tools to help your learners evoke the transformation your course has for them using the exact techniques that are outlined in your course syllabus.

This will also help your ideal audience get to know like and trust you. Equally important it shows potential students that there's something special about your course that makes it worth paying for later down the road.

Send Course Survey Feedback to Future Students

Send Course Survey Feedback to Future Students

Using surveys can be a great way to get feedback, and it gives you an opportunity to improve your course. Carefully consider the feedback that you receive and make changes as necessary.

When an instructor responds to a student survey, it shows that you are invested in their students' success. This can help build rapport with future students by showing that you care about delivering high-quality material for them.

Additionally, responding to specific request will give your students a reason to come back if they need additional help or want more information from the instructor.

Optimize Your Course Materials

Optimize Your Course Materials

Optimizing your course materials will help you and your students to understand the material better.

  • Use a table of contents. This is an easy way to get students to familiar with the content, while still keeping things concise and organized. It’s also helpful for you as a teacher.

  • Make sure your title is descriptive. A good title can mean the difference between someone clicking on one link or another, so make sure yours stands out! You don’t want someone opening up your course and wondering “What am I even looking at?” The more descriptive you can make this title (and subtitle), the better chance people have of understanding what they are getting themselves into before they hit play.

  • Use images to break up text/sections within each chapter/lesson/module—this helps break things up visually so readers stay engaged throughout entire text blocks instead of losing interest after paragraph two because everything looks too similar without any visual variety! This also makes reading easier because there aren't any long paragraphs making it harder for our eyesight due to having less breaks between them while we're trying to focus on one thing without losing focus during the reading time which usually happens every few minutes if not every second if done correctly :)

Honesty, Authenticity, and Passion will sell your online course before it's finished.

Honesty, Authenticity, and Passion will sell your online course before it's finished.

You have the ability to make money by selling courses online as a side hustle or even full time. Now, if you're going to sell your course on Udemy, you'll need a really good course. I think that honesty, authenticity, and passion will sell your online course even before it's finished. So don't rush it! Take your time with it and make sure that people can see how much work has gone into creating this product for them.

Conclusion

I hope you found this post helpful, and that it gives you some ideas for how to make money with your knowledge. The best thing about creating online courses is that it's a great way to promote yourself and build an audience, which means that there's a lot of flexibility in terms of what kind of content you create. You don't have to be an expert on every topic that comes up in life; anyone can share their experiences or knowledge by writing books or articles, making podcasts or videos... The possibilities are endless!
